  • Create original bibliographic metadata records for local and national databases to describe and provide access to print and electronic cartographic resources in all languages and scripts.
  • Establish and edit personal, geographic, and corporate body names; series and uniform titles; and subject headings by creating authority records. Contribute authority records to the national online authority files via NACO and SACO, the authority cooperative programs of the Library of Congress’ Program for Cooperative Cataloging.
  • Study current and developing metadata standards and best practices for cartographic resources. Document changes to metadata policies and workflows in consultation with the management team.
  • Serve as a liaison to other areas of IU Libraries and the university and on committees and task forces.
