I thrive on the challenge of processing complicated multi-format collections and providing access to end users. Since March 2020, I have been exploring geospatial metadata in my new role as Cartographic Resources Cataloger for the Indiana University Libraries. My hope is that this will improve not just the discovery of IU’s cartographic resources, such as maps and LANDSAT imagery, but that I will find exiting new opportunities for providing access to any resource that can be spatially contextualized or analyzed, whether it be the locations of recorded performance, the site of a photograph, or the history of 1920s film venues for Black audiences.
In addition to cataloging and metadata, I have over twelve years of full-time, professional archival experience that includes arranging and describing a wide array of material, designing and managing digitization and quality control workflows, supervising student hourly employees and interns, and providing instruction to students and researchers in the use of primary sources. I also have experience with promoting archival collection through print publications, exhibitions, and presentations.
